It’s better with culture – youth for culture

The project “Better with Culture – Youth for Culture” focuses on bringing closer the culture and educational institutions to the youth through the European Youth Card.

About the project

Research by NINAMedia in 2016 showed that a very small percentage of young people is actively involved in the creation of cultural content, and that a large number of those who have declared that culture is not interested in them, and therefore are not sufficiently informed about the offers.

The goal of the project “ Better with Culture – Youth for Culture” is to get closer to the youth with the  culture and educational institutions through the European Youth Card, to expand horizons about  the awareness of the creativity of young people and to offer new discounts and benefits in this sphere so that young people could enjoy in these fields with more benefits. The focus of the project is that young people are animated, encouraged and motivated by:

  • active participation,
  • developing intelligent values,
  • moral potentials and interests,

in order to form themselves in a complete and capable person.

Within the project, a minimum of 20 workshops will be realized in secondary schools in the following municipalities of Belgrade: Zvezdara, Stari grad, Vožvovac, Palilula, Savski venac, Vračar, Čukarica, Novi Beograd, Zemun and Grocka.

It is planned to set up an online map with youth content on the website of the European Youth Center in order to promote the current events in the city with the location of the site. During the duration of the project, the competition will be called Be Cool (Tural), where young people will be able to show their talent and creativity and win valuable awards.

The duration of the project is 01 March 2017 – 31 December 2017.

The Youth for Culture project is realized by the European Youth Center and financed by the Secretariat for Sports and Youth of the City of Belgrade.

EUROPEAN YOUTH CENTER

European Youth Center was founded in Serbia in 2002 and it is representing the project of the European Youth Card (EYCA) which, in addition to numerous benefits from various fields, aims to enable the youth and student population to participate in many international programs that encourage mobility and youth awareness.

As a long-term partner of the Global Travel Group in Serbia, European Youth Center has the exclusive right to participate in the development of the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), which joins the world’s unique project for students and it is present in over 120 countries of the world.

European Youth Card is designed to support young people’s mobility, through numerous services, discounts and benefits in Serbia and abroad, to motivate students in exploring the world they live in, to be informed about events in it and to participate actively and fully in its construction.
